It is indeed a Christmas present.. I cant wait to join y'all in the magical world of DSLR's... Twirls~~~ a happy appreciative spoiled young woman who counts her blessings each day.. (k well I like to think of myself as young) ;) giggles.

Open the present carefully, replace the camera with a brick, then carefully re-wrap the present. Now, go out and play, but don't scratch the camera. Then, a day or two before Christmas, you do the same thing in reverse. Piece o' cake. :)

Another option would be to leave the brick in the box, then act real surprised when you open it on Christmas morning. That way you might get a second camera that you can use as a backup. :)

Puh-leeeeze.

Won't the gifter cut you some slack on this one?

Torture is right but ain't that what Christmas is all about?

Laughing my butt off here.. I LIKE the way you think Mick.. however I did that one year.. opened all my presents (to peek) and it was the worst christmas ever... so ... I can be patient, I have the skills to wait for good things to come to me.. ~cheshire cat grins~ The brick thing tho.. thats tempting I must admit..cuz I know the box wont be opened till its given to me.. LOL

Pawdrix.. Torture is indeed what its all about ;) well and all that religion stuff and umm yeah.. grins.. but to answer your question.. NO to slack.. wont happen.. its part of the game with her, lets get it really early so that it'll drive you crazy up until the day you get it.. ~smiles~

Holy smokes chick! That camera is losing value as it sits in the box, unused! It would be a huge mistake not to act on Mick's advice!

Here's an argument you can probably live with: if the camera comes defective, you are better off finding this out in the first 30 days than later. Depends on what kind of store you bought it from, but it's never a good idea to leave an expensive purchase untested for so long.

A can of beans would work better. The brick is reserved for 1 class Canons.

Slick slick justification :-) It really IS a good idea cause the store is easier to exchange a DOA then the manafacturer. Is it likely - well no but you can never be too sure about these things :-)
