November the 5th is when we in the UK celebrate the foiling of a 400 year old act of terrorism. Guy Fawlkes and his friends tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament, but were caught and hung, drawn and quatered!
So now 400 years later we have a bonfire and fireworks, though I'm not sure the original reason still holds.
Anyway - here's our local bonfire and fireworks in the village of Anston, South Yorkshire, UK.
