What size are those images? It may be that if they're large, that they've been re-sized down for display, although I don't know that for sure.

I have some like that to. I have a fall foliage pic in there that looks like crap. The original is a nice pic. I even have it set for my desktop.

Well, it's not the filesize (in kb) which matters, but the pixel dimensions. I'm concerned that images larger than 640 pixels may get resized, although, again, I don't know that for sure.

I suggest a direct email to the admins -- use the menu Help > Contact link ... they don't always have time to see all the forums. You might include a link to this thread.

Sorry for the trouble!

I assume you're resizing before uploading. If not, what GeneralE said is probably what happened (resized by site).

GeneralE is asking about the dimension size of the photo. How long is the longest side of your pictures when you upload in pixels? 640? 900? 1200? Etc.

Do everyone's photos on the site look whacky, or just your own? If they all look bad I'd look into the settings you have on your AOL account. Seems to me there is a setting in there somewhere that can severely screw up the look of JPGs. The intent was apparently to make pages come up more quickly, but the setting can make things look terrible.

I'm not an AOL user, but I can remember this being an issue for customers of ours in years past.

The AOL browser has a setting regarding "compressing graphics" -- although since it's a modified version of IE, the setting might be there too.

Try looking at the site with Firefox/Mozilla or Safari on a Mac and see if the problem's the same.

I want to thank Alansfreed for his help. He made me realize it was my aol browser settings which affected the images, thanks ALAN ! sorry I was so hard on the administrators.
