I wasn't going to do this, but my curiosity is getting the better of me :)
I had this entered into the "delicate" challenge, but then discovered that for some reason my date in the camera was off by one day. Took it on Tuesday (deadline day), but it read taken on Wednesday. Now obviously, I can't enter something on Tuesday that I didn't take until Wednesday, but rules are rules - so I requested my own DQ.
Please tell me how you would have scored this photo for "Delicate"

7- Would have scored high if it was sharper. It's creative, well composed, fits the challenge very well and I love the B&W. But here the softness doesn't work, I would have prefered this being a lot grainy, but then again this is a personal choice.

80 views and only 1 score? You don't even have to tell me why, (although you can if you want!) but I'd like to know what score it might have received. I really didn't want to leave it in the challenge since I knew the date to be wrong. Just didnt' seem right. |

Since I didn't vote in that challenge, I really have no idea. Given the challenge theme, and this shot, I would say probably well over 6. At least a 7 or 8, if not higher.
Regardless of score, it is an AWESOME shot.

Works very well in B&W and has good black/white tonal range. The perspective and pose is excellently conceived. You catch the couple in a tender moment looking lovingly forward to the future.
On the technical side the lighting from the left is too bright. The mother's left forearm and top are overexposed. A touch of angled backlighting to provide a boundary to the back of the heads is worth considering.
The hands seem unbalanced and would be better if her right hand were positioned over his hand like they are on the left side.
Artistically, and particulary for a photo challenge, this would be better without the mother wearing the top. But we can certainly understand how a modest couple might think differently. :) The top is not flattering and distracts from the image but part of that is because it is overexposed. Perhaps an opened, button down, monochromatic, short-sleeved blouse pulled back but with strategic, flowing coverage might work better.
