And a pre-emptive welcome to Australia. What city are you coming to?

Thank you both! We'll be in Brisbane for the interim, staying with my brother in law while we look for land to purchase- the goal is to build a house and try to become as self sufficient as possible. We're pretty sure we'll end up somewhere in central Qld.

You may be joking bear but if Andi is planning to come to central Queensland she really will need to look out for kangaroos on the road. I'm more north west Queensland mind you but any night driving in country areas will have you looking out for roos.
We're having 42 degrees C today ( not sure what that is in F but it's bloody hot! ).
Good luck with the move, I hope you can really settle here and enjoy your new life!

Tis true! And we're looking for rural land, so it applies even moreso!
All part of the adventure ;)

Well your just in time to go and see Australia vs West Indies test cricket. They are playing at the GABBA ground Brisbane, no time like the present to get a dose of our sporting culture.
Just noticed you said it was raining, if the cricket is rained out you can always spend the afternoon in a Pub watching the last races of the Spring carnival.
Good luck with new future in Australia |

Thanks keegbow! Considering we haven't even been here 24 hours yet, I think it'll be a little bit before we make it to the cricket ;) We still have to get unpacked, get a mobile phone and get used to the time difference!
