Folks,
Now that i have had my EOS 350d for a few months i am thinking about giving myself a small project to do over the Chritmas holidays.
I live in Glasgow and i would like to take some shots of landmarks in and around Glasgow.
In the back of my mind i can see large Black and White prints in nice frames.
Does anybody have any advice? Where to start, planning and so on.
This is my first attempt at a mini project so any advice and tips would be welcome.

Hi Mate - I have been to Glasgow a couple of times with work...
Stayed at the "City Inn" down on the river. There is an interesting Crane thing next to it that would make a superb wide angle topic to shoot with a nice dramatic sky!

Cheers Al,
I have about 9 or 10 locations in mind, it was more advice on how to go about getting the shots and planning for a project of this type.
Advice on if shooting for black and white to use RAW, how to enlarge or scale down for A4 or possibly A3 printing and framing.
I know it is difficult to answer before there are any shots available but i would like to have done some preperation before i head out.

For this type of thing, it would probably be best to shoot in RAW and use a tripod where possible, so that you can blend different exposures if lighting is a ittle difficult.

| I would suggest taking some detailed close up's of specific bits of the larger subject. Works better for me on old buildings and such that have a lot of details in the columns, roof e.t.c. |

A friend of mine bought a print a few years ago of exactly that. An almost abstract b&w closeup of a building. I have to say it looks great.
So many things to try, this should be fun.... |
