We had something similar as an assignment last year... How about finding an "S" shape in nature? They're all over the place.. you just have to look for them. Other shapes can include circular shapes or others.. I think the S shapes will be easiest to spot. You can even have a challenge that requires having an S shape no matter where you find it.. S curves are useful in photography... even as useful as *gasp* the rule of thirds!!

ohhh i like this one .... it would make people look at even everyday objects in a whole new way - i may have to just go out and shoot something like that anyways - great idea :)

I think it's kind of funny how everyone on here has heard of the rule of thirds, or has had someone suggest using the rule of thirds... but I'm surprised nobody's heard of S curves.. or at least that they're not as widely advised like the rule of thirds is...

I picture a flock of sheep chanting "rule of thirds! Use the rule of thirds!" Well I stray from the flock and say "use S curves! Try something new!" heheh :)
