I wasn't too happy with my result for image grain.
My entry:

The one I wanted to enter, but didn't because I was worried about criticism for over-editting:

Now I wish I'd entered the one I like better, but wonder whether it would have done better or worse. Opinions please.

I like the one you entered the best.

I prefer the one you entered - if you'd straightened it a bit.

I don't like that type of noise in PS, I experimented with it myself, but I think it looks like something out of a bad fax machine.

For "grain" I like the one you entered better than the other.
It's a fairly static image and very boxy. Something of an "example" rather than a look-at-this-I-want-you-to-see-it-from-my-point-of-view shot.
(IOW, what did you want to tell me in the image about that Leica?)

I think the entry was better. I don't particularly like the vertical lines with this image....just seems out of place.

Maybe if your entry was on an old shelf with other cameras or trinkets (think antique shop or pawn shop), there would have been more impact.

Well this small sample would suggest my expectations were right. I know my taste often differs from the majority.

As far as the other comments are concerned, it's all a matter of leaving things till the last minute, then wanting to enter something. Will I ever learn?
