Run this test to see if your LCD monitor is properly calibrated. I was surprised to learn that mine is mostly well calibrated; to me it seemed way too bright.

They have a test for CRT too, BTW.

This seems a little suspect. I went through it three times making slight adjustments to my decisons each time and all three came out the same, that half my settings were not correct. It then tries to sell a product. Hmmmmm.

Yeah that happened to me the first time. I went back and re-calibrated (with Adobe Gamma) and this is what it came back with:

Summary

You have selected position 0 for screen tilt.
You have selected position 8 for blackpoint.
You have selected position 13 for whitepoint.
You have selected position 7 for low TRC.
You have selected position 9 for high TRC.
You have selected position 8 for low TRC color shift.
You have selected position 9 for high TRC color shift.

Analysis

Nearly all the tested monitor parameters are correctly set. You probably already use a calibrator.

ColorWizzard helps to properly set monitor controls, but this is just the beginning, with color calibration it provides much more. It allows to set the monitor in predefined color spaces corresponding to numerous activities, it provides soft-proofing and optimizes screen-to-printer matching.

FWIW, I still find my monitor a little bright. And yeah it does sound a little suspect. Has anyone with hardware calibration tried this test? Just curious how accurate it really is.

Here is another software test you can use that seems a little les suspect:
