I should probably put this in rant, and it really pisses me off.
I tried purchasing a digital download of the first game of the world series from the MLB digital download service. It took my debit card money and that was it. No mention of where this file is to be downloaded, no download instructions, nothing. They simply stole my money! No help or any kind of halfway useful contact information whatsoever in an almost impossible to navigate website (probably set up that way deliberatly).
I'm not 88 years old, but dammit I waited for this for 56 years and then to be ripped off like this when all I want to do is get a copy of the games; this really pisses me off! |

I don't see any option for debit card on the MLB site...
If you found a site looking for a debit card number and passcode, I'd seriously wonder whether you got scammed. I've yet to use a site which allows debit cards; Paypal and credit cards are the primary methods due to their security. |

That's simply not so. I don't use credit cards online; EVERYTHING I buy online is with my debit card. Any debit card imprinted with the holographic "Visa" logo (and I presume same is true of M/C though I don't have one) can be used anywhere that accepts credit cards. This card also fuels my PayPal account, incidentally, no problem.
It's true that a "naked" debit card, without the Visa affiliation, won't be acceptable online, but those are becoming rarer and rarer.
The reason I do it this way, incidentally, is to keep my C/C information offline completely. It feels safer to me. The account my debit card is linked to rarely has more than 100 dollars in it, unless I feed it prior to a planned purchse. If someone steals my debit card info, they're not getting far with it LOL.
Robt.

That's the website. I did the 'add to cart', checkout, and gave all my debit card information. It accepted the transaction and then did nothing else. Like for example when I buy Turbo-tax online every year once the transaction is finished I get a page asking me where I want to download the file to, a 'download' button, etc. I got absolutely nothing like that here, and their 'help' is pretty much non-existant. |

Most sites that accept any type of online payments usually send a confirmation email pretty soon afterwards?

Thanks for the info Robert, I was totally ignorant of the proliferation (and acceptance by retailers) of such cards.
And John, I think your best bet is to take Pioneer's advice and call customer service. This could be anything from a simple pop-up blocker on your end to an actual system error on theirs. |

This page, in addition to the info that Pioneer posted, has an email contact form.
