I've been doing okay so far with shooting B&W in the summer sun with a fast shutter. I'm now hoping to start shooting indoors, specifically in music clubs. It's dark, there's lots of movement, and I won't be using a flash because I don't want to draw attention to myself (shots just look better candid).

Before I set out to do this can anyone give me some pointers please?

First, you need to increase the ISO, it's basically camera's sensitivity to light. The downside is that as you increase the ISO, there is more noise. Second, open up the aperature as much as possible, e.g. f2.8 lets in twice as much light as f4. This will all allow you to get faster shutter speeds so you don't get just a blur for a shot. I don't know if your camera will have high enough ISO, for a dimmly lit room you generally need about ISO 800 or so.

Good luck
