Cool, just a little over an hour to carve and photograph a pumpkin...impressive! (Especially for one who never wielded knife at pumpkin before!)

Close the boards! I'm guaranteed a top 10 if we stop now!

I think it's a little early still for pumpkin carving. I don't want my (already chewed up) pumpkin to be brown and mushy on Halloween!

Obviously, math and attention to detail is not my strong point....

I'll have to be answering the door for appx 150 candy-hungry children on Halloween...alone, this year, as hubby has an evening practice. So I couldn't exactly put off my entry for the last minute (as is usual for me).

Did you like the experience of scooping out the guts? (Or did you skip that part?)

I thought about possibly entering. I noticed last week that the time on my camera was wrong, so I changed it a couple days ago. Unfortunately I realized tonight that I also accidentally set the month back. Sigh. So here's my jack-o-lantern- probably the last one I'll ever do! Wednesday I'm on a plane, moving to Australia, and October is the wrong season for pumpkin there. Oh well, I have great pumpkin carving memories in the US!

With only 45 entries (at the moment) this could be the first challenge with under 100 entries since last December's Hidden Faces!
(That, or maybe everyone's waiting for the neighbor kids to go to bed so they can "borrow" the pumpkins from their porch?)

I just want you to know, I have blisters from carving my pumpkin. I haven't photoed it yet, though. Hopefully I'll get to it before some young vandal does. :-D

Fine by me, as long as the results are similar. ;-P

OK, my first entry since Macro V. I hope for the best... (didn't even make use of the extra editing rules; went for the carving part. hehe)

top 50 is what I expect for this one.

ok. 149 Trick or Treater's and only 9 more entries....
(And, no, you didn't read a focal length there. I really get that many kids/teens/and parents in costume at my door. Keep a count every year. We're down from a record 180-ish but up from last years paltry 130-something.)
Looks like top 100 for all of us!

6 more "kids" at the door and 1 more entry.
When the trick-or-treaters are taller than me and reason that they may be the last of the night so I should give them most of the remainders one has to oblige and promptly turn out the light. =)

I turned out the light when the first batch of 17 yr olds showed up saying they were getting candy for their grandkids!!! eesh!
