OK - Hypothetical ... the challenge is advanced editting. lets say I have 1 image ... shot in RAW format. Can I open the image twice - with 2 different settings in RAW converter - then place on on top of the other us a layer and use parts of each (in other words taking advantage of RAW format to its fullest) ??? None of the actual image is moved or anything - realistically this could be done without anyone noticing but I'm wondering if it's legal !!! .... For some reason I think this question will irritate people but I want to know if I can do it! ... thanks.

It is certainly legal, as long a you don't move elements of the image relative to each other.
