Comments I have recieved reflect the same line of thinking. The challenge description states that the background is supposed to be white. Not BRIGHT white, not shadowless white....just WHITE.
IMO, many of the voters are WAY over thinking this...

Hear, hear! With the proliferation of LCD screens out there, I sure hope there aren't many people judging these entries with an eyedropper tool... I'm sorry, but some people are just bonkers when it comes to judging these contests. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but it never even occurred to me to take it to that level of analysis. Gosh, I don't even want to look at what's going to happen to the poor people who creatively interpret this challenge by submitting sunset on snowfields or what have you... Loosen up a little, people... it's supposed to be fun! /stepping off soap box

I was just psyching myself up to get ready to do my scoring on 100% images in this challenge - (I always do - when I score). Was hoping to give some thoughtful comments in on some too. (I'm certainly due to give some more and have some time over this weekend to do so).

A bit "de-psyched" (new word?) now.
