I started with a 256 Mb Olympus xD memory card in my camera, and took over 7,000 pictures on it. I had my counter set on continuous, so my pictures were numbered in order. I lent my card to a friend, and after she used it, I put it back in my camera and the numbering started over at zero...Any idea why??? I just find it interesting to keep track of how many pictures I've taken, and now it's gone.

Thanks for your help.

mmhh... this is just a guess, but some cameras are set to start numbering at 0 (it can be set on the camera, like mine), so maybe hers was set to that.

Alternatively, I have a little point and shoot as well, and the only way for me to reset it back to 0, was to do it in the menu section, manually.
