how can i change a raw file for submission. i have nikon editor and picasa..PLease help.

If you look at the top of the page, there is a toolbar. Click on Learn, then on Tutorials. One of the tutorials is about resizing for submissions.

you will need some sort of RAW conversion software, you camera most likely came with something or you can check their website. I and a lot of others use Adobe Photoshop CS. You can do a websearch and I'm sure find a million of them.

First use the Nikon software to convert the RAW file to a lossless format like TIFF. Make adjustments so that the exposure, contrast, color balance, etc. are as close to your intended final output as they can be.
Open the converted file in Picasa and complete any editing, then crop, resize so the longest side is 640px, sharpen, and save as a JPG; adjust the JPG quality so that the file comes in just under 150k.
