i bought this lens for around $530. its a nice macro lens and since i dont own many lenses, it also funcitons as a telephoto lens for me.

i used it to shoot a concert and night and am pleased with the results. i have put up the unedited, unsharpened, untouched originals (except being resized for the web) on my gallery here:

all the shots of the band members close up are with the sigma 150mm macro lens. the rest are with the 17-85 IS and 50mm prime.
