Although I just got my Dimage 7 a couple of weeks ago, I think it's time to move on. So I'm buying a Rebel XT. It's what I really wanted in the first place but I just boght the minolta to try it out. But I'll have enough money to buy the camera and two lenses probably. And maybe a battery grip and some other jazz.
If you could recommend a couple of lenses that would be cool. I want a normal everyday lense, but I also want a telephoto and a wide angle/macro.
The minolta has been faithful to me...for all of 2 weeks. It will be missed (not really....but don't tell it I said that...)
Thanks for your help.

can't go wrong with the 16-35L f2.8, the 24-70L f2.8 and of course, the universally endorsed 70-200L f2.8 IS
That should about cover it.
Well for macro, you should get the 180mm L

well, to round that out, you'll need a Tamron SP AF 28-75 f/2.8

Here's another vote for the Tamron; makes much more sense economically than the 24-70L, about a third the cost and optically first rate. I don't know what kind of pictures you like to take, but something wider than listed above (Canon 10-22mm for example) would be on my list of must-haves. And you can save money by buying the Canon 70-200mm f/4L instead of the f/w.8; optically its as good, arguably better, just not quite as fast...
10-22, 28-75, 70-200; a nice range.
