Hi,
My name is Melissa and I am currently a 4th year design student at York/Sheridan's Design program. During our last year, we have to overtake this major project in Workshop class in which we have to develop our own project based on a given theme which is 'mapping the city'. I have an interest in photography, so i decided to base my theme on creating a guide for novice photographers like myself who enjoy photography as a past-time. This guide will lend some insight as to where they can photograph the city of Toronto (skyline). I may want to explore the techniques required to shoot day/night and seasonal photos which will give some variation to the skyline theme. Some of my personal favourites include The Docks (on Cheery St.), Centre Island, Panorama lounge, and the rooftop of 401 Richmond St. W. Some of these places i consider retreats where I can stay for almost as long as I want, with very little or no traffic (people and cars), I can reflect on my day and at the same time enjoy the view... This project can also be a reference for the shooting-savvy visitors/tourists of Toronto.

So I would like to gather some experiences from photographers who have taken photos of Toronto (ie. skyline) and why these are their favourite spots, what the location may have to offer other than the spectacular view, is the place publically accessible, etc.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks =)

~Melissa
