Low scores are assigned to less appealing photos, and high scores to to the better ones. The popularity of the photographer has little to do with it (as Librodo's scores demonstrate). He used the same familiar style and subjects on each of his last two low scores.

I think you have that reversed.......low scores to better ones and high scores to more appealing ones......

....Perhaps not everyone... but I can assure you that having travelled to Europe rather extensively... numerous were the occasions when people would readily recognize the maple leaf on my backpack as a Canadian symbol and engage me in conversation.

Yes , many times I also shared that experience in Europe. A Canadian flag was always well received.

and his last two high scores? I'd love to see his last two ribbons posted here......(since it is a ribbon I assume it is open to general discussion and comparison...no?)

Not just knowledge, but "cultural literacy" is the categorization you're reaching for?

I don't know why, but I find this discussion a bit bazaar..
I live in America, without the title there would have to be an eagle sitting on that leaf for me to get it ...and hack yeh, I am somewhat intelligent..and even more intuitive..
It is a really superb leaf though!

Geesh, Susi, be careful there; we got a LOT of Canadians on board who might take extreme umbrage at the mental image of an eagle squatting on their leaf: from their perspective we do enough of that already...
