I need some help here. I'm looking for a camera for my grandmother so it should be very easy to use and the software that comes with the camera should also be easy to use.

She use to have Toshiba PDR-M4 but the button fell of so she can't use it anymore.

I have been thinking of Canon Ixus 330 or 400 or Sony P-?2.
I also saw a Canon G2, that people are selling that are one year old and I was thinking if that would be to complicated for my grandmother.

I know I hvae been talking about my grandmother like she is 100 year old but she is just 60 year old. But because I live 400 km from her I can't teach her so much how the camera works.

Hope you can help my find some good camera for her.

I am a little older than your Grandmother and one of the main things
I look for is I don't want a heavy one I use HP618 but if I was buying
one today I would get a more up to date one. I have always done more with my camera's and etc. than my children thought I would. My brother would not think of using anything but a canon so I'm sure they are good.

It appears that the Toshiba PDR-M4 is a fairly basic all auto camera. In replacing the camera I would probably get something comparable depending on what your grandmother would like to do with it. From what I read this camera has no optical zoom so getting something with any optical zoom would be a bonus. You could probably look at the Canon A series (newest is A70) or the Canon S series (newest is S50). Something like the A70 might be all she needs if she doesn't want to play around with manual features. OOPS! A70 has alot of manual features.

If you look on sites like dcreview and dpreview you should be able to find a few to compare.

BTW. The Canon software is very easy to use.

The Ixus 400 has 4MP, 3x optical zoom and is $450? (average of Steve's Digicam prices).

The Olympus C730 is the upgrade to my camera and it has 3.2MP and 10x optical zoom (less moving around for closer up pictures). It has 6 program modes and a decent autofocus. It's a touch heavier than the Ixus, but it's just another idea out there for ya. :)
