Hey, I'm just here to have fun! Who really cares what people think? Is a ribbon that important? Just take the photos that you like to take and if someone doesn't get it or you don't score as well as you think who really cares? I'm only in my 5th challenge and maybe my attitude will change with time but I find it fun and if I didn't think it was fun then why the hell do I take photos for anyway? :)

AMEN!

I just do my pics, and I am really a newbie, see what they say and dont let it bother me, I like what I take a pic of and this is for fun to me and learn a little, heck life is to short to let someone piss you off.

Spoken like someone who hasn't enjoyed a good ol' fashioned Village Burning! ;-)

I says we show those voters the "wide angle" of my flamethrower!

Ahh - I'm just kidding. It may not look that good, but I made sure my entry looked WIDE. ;-)

Now, off to Margaritaville...

I knew there was a reason I have got some decent scores lately:)

Exactly why I didn't enter. Unless you have a fisheye or ultra wide lens where people can see the distortion, some voters will just kill it. I like to call it the "literal voter mentality".

I had a similar comment and mine WAS taken with a 16mm fisheye, in fact two maybe three people have said it isn't particularly wide. You have to remember that a dSLR (OK most dSLR's) are going to struggle to appear wide simply because of the inbuilt crop factor. P&S cameras may have a slight advantage here.

For all those 'Literal Challenge Police' out there - the challenge asked us to use the widest lens in the bag. For some people that might be a 50mm. Just ease up on the interpretation guys, play nice.

I took my (uncropped) entry with a 12mm lens on a D70, and I've had a comment that it didn't meet the challenge (i.e. not wide angle). I just laughed & shrugged it off.

I read all my photo comments, and some are very helpful and written where it does not hurt your feelings. But their are others out there that make comments that are very harsh and does not take into acount that some of us are just beginners, learning about how to take quality photo's.
I feel they need to think alittle more before they post.
50 and loving life !!!!
