I have 2 comments that say WTF does this have to do with wide angle? I actually put the angle I shot it in in my title???? I guess I should take it with a grain of salt, but damn people!

That's cool. The majority of my comments tell me how great my shot is, and I've got a 4.7 I miss my update button when it's gone, and the challenges drive me crazy when I'm in them.

I think I'm looking for my lost shaker of salt...

At least you have a couple of comments ... some of us are still lagging in that category.

Oops. Just got up to two comments. I solve this particular problem by not reading the comments until after the voting is finished.

Its just entertaining Lisa! Thats the only reason I keep the faith. You are a asset, and should keep yourself going. There arent too many like you! I appreciate all you do, and all your comments.

I can understand why you are angry though. Try and not let it get to you. Some people just dont get it. :) LIsa

If you think people truly don't "get it" when it should be obvious, then you should feel sorry for them, not angry.

Thanks for finding it, BradP!

And parrothead, I honestly feel your pain. Sometimes I wonder what the voters are smoking...

Keep the comments on my entry coming, I love 'em - even if they don't jive with the scores!

And as far as hiccups, I think most of the cures were invented just to amuse the person suggesting them. Although a big spoonful of peanut butter does work...if you eat it inverted.

A couple ideas come to mind...

If this doesn't cure it

try

(who cares about the hiccups then?)

If all else fails, a brown paper bag may help.

Hell, it could be my fault

Priceless finish line!

When it gets too frustrating, just remember a line from Blazing Saddles.

"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons."

I got a comment like this on mine, too. Nicer, but basically saying it doesn't seem "wide". Funny, considering it's taken at 17mm on a 17-40mm wide angle lens. Perhaps the vertical orientation confused the viewer, who maybe thought "wide" literally meant the photo had to be horizonally oriented?? LOL

That's an absolute fact, actually. From my teaching days I can affirm that a shocking number of neophyte (and not-so-neophyte) photographers think if it ain't horizontal it ain't wide angle. And even from a pragmatic (as opposed to "definition") point of view, we tend not to "read" vertically-oriented wide angle shots as "true" wide angle, especially if they have a lot of blue sky in 'em.

For this challenge, the appearance of "wide" is critical. There are a lot of shots in the challenge that were pretty clearly shot with a fairly WA lens that just don't "look" especially wide. It's all inw hat you shoot and how you frame it up.

Robt.

True enough. Mine definately looks like it was taken with a wide-angle lens. But it's vertically oriented, which may be cause of that comment. It's not getting good votes, either, but I think that's because it's rather average.
