GO WHITE SOX!!!!!

Finally, after 46 years! I was 10 years old in 1959 when they last played in a world series. No curses, no damn chokes this year, just great baseball!

I would prefer to have the Sox play St. Louis in the series, but it looks like it will be Houston. I worry about the Astros pitching staff, especially Roger Clemens and their nasty relief pitcher (Liege ).

As to whether the White Sox got all the breaks, well maybe they did, but if so it's about damn time. This makes up for almost a half-century of rotten luck, blown umpire calls, ruinous trades, season-wrecking injuries, and that God-damn strike in 1994 which wiped out the season for probably the strongest White Sox team during that period.

A couple of parting thoughts:

In game 2, Angels' catcher Paul goofed by not tagging Pierzynski on that swinging strike 3. Never might whether you actually caught it or not, if there might be any kind of doubt tag the batter just to be on the safe side.

In game 4, Finley should have run to first base BEFORE trying to convince the umpire that Pierzynski tipped his bat. You NEVER argue with the umpire while the ball is still in play. Had Finley run all out, he would have beat the double play relay, another run would have scored, and the inning would still be alive. THEN Finley could call time and present his case to the umpire.

They still play baseball? I thought that went out after the Tigers won in 84...

Red Sox did it last time.

Gonna be an interseting series. The white sox have been the beneficiaries of some horrible calls, and the astros have watched the refs rule the cardinals out of their series, tossing half the team today (better pitching helps too). Question is which way will the worm turn? If the world series is called as badly as either championship series, this could be a year for the history books.
