The name isn't written in stone, just wanted to get something up there for now. But any ideas to improve, make better, etc are greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Isn't copywrite supposed to be spelled copyright?

It looks pretty professional, I like the overall design and colors are nice.

I would have preferred different sections of photography examples with an album each, like portraits, pets, candids, landscape, etc. Possibly you could make the intro just a smidge shorter and too the point.

that page flipping thing is pretty awesome

like the motto lot.

oposite of what longlive said, not a big fan of the literal photo album with flipping pages. takes time to load and the music doesnt really do anything for me.

other than that, pretty nice

It's a program that comes with my web host and unless I upgrade I get one album for now. Once I get going I can add more albums.

Hi Neuferland,

A quick suggestion, your opening splash-flash is a bit distracting and doesn't have much to do with your talent. I'd either change your opening splash page to something highlighting your favorite photos (its the first thing your clients will see) or take it out all together.

Otherwise, its well written and looks nicely professional once you get inside.

FWIW, I'm on a broadband connection and it took too long (in my opinion) for the page-flipping gallery thing to load. As cool as it may seem, you may want to switch to something a little simpler that loads faster, especially for dialup users. The main intent should be to let people see your work, not to experience a wizzy photo album.

I also agree about the intro being compltely superfluous and would recommend removing it. Somebody who comes to your web site doesn't want to see animations, they want to find out about you and your services.

Good choice of name - I think using your own name like that sounds good. Good tag line too 'Give me a moment...'

That photo album with the turning pages is excellent!

I'm not a big fan of music on websites. I think it irritates people.

That pic of the little dog on the left bar looks a bit low-quality.

How about a logo in that box on top-left (where the duck is at the moment) - That's where the eye first looks on the page.

In the 'about me' page, I'm not sure about the text 'constantly striving to improve and learn' - If I'm going to pay a photographer, I don't want them to be a learner ... !

In the 'services' page, I'm not sure are these packages in your studio, in my house, or on site

You should put your phone number at the bottom of each page, or at least somewhere where people can see it easily instead of having to navigate to the 'Contact' page.

Cool... I really like the photo album .. complete with curly edges as you go to turn the page. That's awesome! (and the pictures are great too)

Looks good Deannda! I like the pale colors. They don't hurt the eyes!

Here are a few things I'm noticing...

Instead of "Pictures" as a link, how about "Images" or "Gallery" or something like that? "Pictures" just sounds generic and doesn't sound too special.

"All Pictures show here are ©Gimmeaminute Photography" - Typo, should be "showN"

Can you turn off the progressive downloading? The images aren't very big so it doesn't seem needed.

You use two different names for your business. On the 'Pictures' page you have "©Gimmeaminute Photography" and on the "Home" page you use "Neufer Photography".

For your email link maybe you could have the subject filled in for the visitor so, for example, the subject line would always read "Photography Inquiry". You could then use that to filter your emails to specific folders. The code to do that would be: mailto:deannda@gimmeaminute.com?subject=Photography Inquiry

What photo viewer did you use? I think it would be nice/better for your customers to see many images at once rather than having to go through them all and one at a time...or maybe it can and I just don't know how to work it?

That's it, I think. Looks good. Nice layout. Good luck!

Edit:

I reloaded the page again and Eddy's right. It did take a while (not a real long time, but longer than it should) for your album to load.

Also, your slogan on the splash screen doesn't show up well when that one color moves behind it.

wondered if the intro was going to end, and what it had to do with you and your photos

Loved the site when it did end!

Looks good, the one thing I would change is on your pricing page, instead of putting 8hours 4hours... I would put "Up to 8hours"

Okay, I'm gonna go against the grain I guess, I Don't like the Photo-Album. Like Eddy Said its takes a bit too long to load and once loaded there's really no good navigation (Categories, etc)..
It would be fine for a personal site, but for a site selling services, I thinks it's kinda cheesy..

Some good advice here. I agree with a lot of it.
The intro bugged me big time, as did the music.
The photo album is cute, but not professional looking.
I thought your photos were a bit too small to really tell much about them, and I feel they should be in albums according to type. Someone who wants photos of their new baby may not want to see heaps of horse photos.
The gentle colors make a nice chance from the often-used black background with bright colors, which gets rather painful at times. The design is consistent from one page to the next, which means I can concentrate on the content, rather than the art. The navigation is simple - another good point.

I think you have made a good start, and a few changes would make your site even better. Keep at it!

Good start, but I'll agree with several folks and summarize:
- dump the intro
- replace the page flipping with something faster and more professional
- split the album pages up into categories
- use larger images
- change the menu item name from "pics" to portfolio or images

hope this helps :)

It is all helping! Thanks so much!

I will seperate the pictures on Monday when I have some time and get rid of the album all together for now.

also, dump the intro and by dumping the album it dumps the music.

The images can be larger but you have to click on them.

The only thing I didn't like about seperating the images is when I link the thumbnails to larger images it opens them in seperate pages which you have to close to get back to my page, that is one of my pet peeves on web pages. I have to find a program I can upload through the FTP port that will work better.
