Right... the point I was trying to make was that it was much easier to get in the "top 10%" (and earn a major win) way back when the site was in its infancy that it is today.

Neat tool EddyG, but something about it sucks...perhaps my challenge entries?
For 2005
7 points in 21 challenges for 2005 (0.33 points per submission)
7 points in 28 challenges for 2004 (0.25 points per submission)
14 career points in 49 challenges (0.29 points per submission)
Lots of Sevens in there (7, 7x2, 7x3, 7x4, 7x7). Hmmm, does that mean my luck is about to turn?

38 points in 36 challenges for 2004 (1.06 points per submission)

Wacky is right!
My name and Heidas name in the same sentance?
Think we have a new definition of oxymoron (I get to be the moron btw) |

Sweet! I finally earn myself a ribbon! At least according to EddyG's calculator.
26 points in 24 challenges for 2005 (1.08 points per submission)
26 career points in 24 challenges (1.08 points per submission)
Qualifies for 'Challenge' status (has at least 3 majors and 25 points)

I was cleaning out my 'Watched Threads' and ran across this one.
I'm not a fan of splitting challenges into 2 groups, but a point race could be fun. :)
The calculator still works! Here's the numbers it spit out for me:
42 points in 65 challenges for 2007 (0.65 points per submission)
199 career points in 278 challenges (0.72 points per submission)
Qualifies for 'Challenge' status (has at least 3 majors and 25 points)
Originally posted by EddyG: FWIW, I proposed a "point system" a while ago in this post during a discussion about how to break-up challenges in two groups, "newer users" and "more experienced users". At that time, I wrote up some code to make it easy to see how many points a user had, although the actual algorithm differed from what I originally posted. The point system I used was:
1st place: 10 points (major win)
2nd place: 9 points (major win)
3rd place: 8 points (major win)
4th place: 6 points (major win)
5th place: 5 points (major win)
Top 10 percent: 3 points (major win)
Top 20 percent: 2 points
Top 30 percent: 1 point
A message is printed if the user qualifies for "Challenge" status (has at least 3 major wins and 25 points based on all challenges entries).
Click here to access the calculator. |

Attention Mr. Sneeze and the joker guy...
I just got myself a GOOD camera and a GOOD lens, so get ready for "another" high roller in your area.
The ribbon master has arrived, and looking to break records (and I don't mean old record players)
ARGH! Bring it ooooon.
