First is a new born gopher tortoise:
Second is an oppossum:
Please feel free to be open with comments, will NOT get too angry (well, at least you will not see it!! LOL).
Thanks in advance,
Jacque

Turtle is good IMO...his color and texture are nice...
The Oppossum (sp?) is a good action shot but would be nice if he was running "into" the photo instead of running "into" the "exit" edge!
Hope my opinion helps! |

Both capture the species well. When I do wildlife shots, I try to get the whole animal in at least one. Then I try to get other portions, angles, and other shots of the animal. The possum running would be hard to do more than you did, unless it stops and plays possum. Most land turtles you can play with, except snappers (they're nasty and stink), they can be moved easily for better back grounds and angles. Just some thoughts. |

did you use digital zoom on the opossum? or is it just a little fuzzy because of the motion?

wavelength, no to the digital zoom, was running very quickly when that one was taken!! Was at full optical zoom though.
vtruan, understand about the animals (hunting, fishing, camping most of my life), I will even move a snapper if I had to, snakes etc do not bother me either. Is there something about that tortoise shot you do not like? Please tell me if there is. I have multiple shots of both these and MANY MANY others my wife and I take. LOL
kenskid, thanks for your comments, any and all always help to see "the big picture" LOL. Would you - or any others, obviously - prefer THIS one?
Thanks again all, for taking the time to help!! I really do appreciate it!!

Why are these pictures showing another thumbnail - have to find and click on the red X to enlarge them - instead of the actual picture? Have not had that problem before, and it is a pain LOL.
Course any other comments on any of them is/will be appreciated! Thanks in advance,

the tortoise is great! wonderful texture shown, and good contrast! did you post process though? i'm not sure why, but it looks way too sharp around the tortoise
