This is one of those cheesy ice shows where people are dressed up as the Disney Characters, the one that is coming here is this one: The 100 Years of Disney Magical Moments

Now there is no way I'm buying tickets to this thing for several reasons despite my daughter's pleas to take them and James because they just know HE WILL LOVE IT! One is the price of course as seen here: Prices

$14 are the cheapest seats and with 4 of us that would be $56!!! I don't think so, not to sit up high and not be a part of the action. And $35 for the rink side, again, I don't think so $140 for a couple of hours of entertainment that James won't even remember. So of course they are sad and disappointed but honestly I have better things to spend money on, you know, things like oh say, groceries, utilities, mortgage.

Well, Melissa saw on one of the commercials to draw a picture of your favorite Disney Character and send it into the Time Warner Cable office in Horseheads. So off she goes with pencil, paper and the Mulan Cover. She comes back about an hour later and the first thing I said was, "Did you trace that?"

"NO MOM! Honest, look! It's bigger than the cover picture and the paper is too thick to see through."

"WOW! That is awesome! Good Job!"

"Can we mail it in?"

"Yeah, I'll get to it, put it on my desk."

So there it sat, getting sat on by the cats, then knocked down to the floor and almost walked on. I kept forgetting to mail it. So Monday when we had to run errands I handed it Melissa, told her to put all her information on it and swear on a stack of bibles that she didn't trace it,I would verify that and we would just drop it off at the office on our way out of town if they were still accepting them.

So that is what we did, she took it in, the manager took it from her personally, laughed when she read the back where we swore on a stack of bibles that it wasn't traced and smiled when she read that Melissa had done it so her little brother could go see some of his favorite Disney Characters in person.

Well, guess what?

Yep, SHE WON!!!!! WOOOOOOT! Now see, I'm excited now because it IS FREEEEEEEEE! I love free things, I really do. And if I remember right, we not only get the really good seats but also get to meet one of the characters up close and personal! Yeah!

So next Thursday we will be rink side watching a cheesy ice show and loving every second of it because of Melissa's awesome talent and persistence that I get that over there!
