I've never really asked for input on my photographs from more experienced shutterbugs. I've collected some of what I think are my better works, and was wondering if anyone had any time to comment on them. I've never done any post processing and am curious what you guys would suggest I do as a next step, or what would have made it a better picture when I took it. I'm completely untrained, and hoping that isn't too apparent.
thanks,
jake

One word.... WOW!
Great stuff in there. Some very powerful and provocative images. If you truly are completely untrained and have done no post processing, then you have a natural talent I could only wish for!

Thanks.
Most of those are me just horsing around with a Digital Rebel. I recently upgraded to a 20d. I have a really difficult time cropping most of the stuff I take since that's how I saw it through the eyepiece. Also, I've got no idea what would go into toying with the colors/levels. |

For the most part, I wouldn't TOUCH them. They are fine just the way they are. Some minor levels and such might add a little more punch, but that's just a nitpick.

I love the girl with the purple hair... and shot of the buildings from ground up but perhaps cut the thing in the lower left out. :) Otherwise, very good.

His stuff's really cool, there's alot of post processing goin on there. I don't want to go that far, but I'd be curious to see how to get those results. |

Don't think you need post processing in the posted shots. They all look well composed and for the most part properly exposed with rich colors. Why post process if ya don';t have to... if you have any crappy sruff, post that and someone may be able to help you, but if you just want us to see how good you are without any digital enhancement, you did that! Cool Stuff! |

That's a really good point. I guess my problem lies in that I'm not sure how to turn something that's framed well but exposed poorly into something that looks good. I'm at the office and don't have access to my archives at the moment. But when I get home I'll dig up something like that and ask for advice on how to make it look better.
Thanks. |
