		| | Can't even come close to affording a macro lens right now. I'm considering buying a set of close up lenses in the mean time (1x, 2x, and 4x). I know this is a cheap alternative and the quality will probably prove it, but I'm wondering if it's good enough for some amateur macro work. Your opinions please. |

		| | All the close-up photos that I've ever taken were taken with close-up lenses ... they seemed perfectly ok to me.

		| | You are talking about those close-up filters that are pretty cheap, right? They screw right on to the lense just like any other filter? |

		| | I've had some good success with close-up filters and my 10D. You will notice however that depth of field is very shallow. With what lens will you be using the close-up filters?
I don't think I have any examples of pictures I took online with close-up filters + I'm at work. Maybe I'll try to post some examples tonight.
