The rule for flowers is the same rule for the nose, "You can touch but don't pick."
My 2 year old following the rule while out hiking. |

Heh... About 13 years ago I was hired to photograph a wedding, a real pick-up truck and mullet affair. I met with the bride and groom about 3 months prior to the date and the term bridezilla didn't do this woman justice. I was paid in full for the wedding package a week before the ceremony so I thought all was well.
On the wedding day I arrived at the brides parents house to hear the tail end of a telephone conversation that was an out and out profanity laced screaming match between bride and groom, aparently the brides ex-boyfriend was going to attend the wedding... YIKES.
During the ceremony the groom was blistering mad and the bride was in tears, but both recited the vows and said "I DO".
Outside the church the groom got into a fight with the ex-boyfriend and hurt him pretty badly, the bride got into a car with the maid of honor and sped off. (I later found out they went to the hospital where the ex was)
The groom said not to worry about the formals and we all headed over to the reception hall, shortly thereafter the police, 8 of them, showed up to arrest the groom and a scuffle broke out when the groomsmen tried to intervein. After the dust settled I went home and thought about what had just happened.
A couple of days later I got a call from the bride who said the marriage was annulled and the husband had been charged with assult on both the ex and a police officer, the bride told me to keep the $$ (I had no intention of issuing a refund anyway) and asked if I would send her the film, I did, never heard from them again.
So the next time you are hired to photograph a wedding remember to bring lots of storage media and some riot gear, there is always a chance things could get out of hand.

Yes I did get photos of a lot of the goings on, at the reception one of the cops ordered me to stop taking photos, I stopped briefly.
I had considered trying to sell copies to the enquirer or something like that but thought the potential backlash and or lawsuit wasn't worth the hassle. |

Somehow she knew when it was time to kiss her ass goodbye.
Disclaimer: no deer was actually shot - with a gun, I mean - in the making of this photo. I don't even hunt. ... 'Cept for my car keys when I'm late for an appointment. |
