Here's a trick: Skip the title and first look at the picture. Then check whether the personification you sensed -if any at all- matches with the title. Otherwise it is only being forced on you to see the picture in a specific way. And I see a good number of these. |
If you are going to vote on one photo and not another then you should not vote at all my photo has a made face in it but it is still by definition personification people are going way out with there own veiws on personification and not judging by the description set down by the site which as a rule is what I follow when voting for a photo. |

Hey, rikki, did you get a comment from me? I've worked my way through the 8+ scores... ;) But don't worry, I did all my voting yesterday and I have only changed scores up today.

i'm a newbie here so pardon the question but what is the Brown Ribbon? I only see three colors awarded. Is that a members only ribbon?

My logic was that since I don't see many of the pictures as personifications (but others may do) I'd rather not vote than vote low.
ps: My logic reserves the right for itself to change or not to change. ;-)

brown is "awarded" to the last-place finisher. It doesn't exist, graphically...

I have a little question concerning everyone's voting 'system' in this challenge...
What happens to good-quality pictures? Do you all vote them low too? what i mean by good-quality picture is, good lighting, good composition... hell, even good post-prosses and USM and such... or does all that goes right out the window?

I typically don't give them the lowest scores. It's all on a curve for me. I typically give them a 4 if it's a good quality image but DNMC. There's been a lot of this lately too. Remember the baseball in the Coffee Challenge? That was a good shot but DNMC :( |

The rules specifically state:
While voting, users are asked to keep in highest consideration the topic of the challenge and base their rating accordingly.
So yes, "meeting the challenge" should be first and foremost. Otherwise it would be "DP Not-A-Challenge". Capturing an image that meets the challenge and has good lighting, good composition, etc. IS the challenge.

| My title, I think, is killing me. I should have gone with my original. It would have helped people see the human traits in my photo. Without it, I'm tanking. So far, 4.7. |
