Well, work, children, and college football season has soaked up all my time for the past two or three months, so I've been scarce around these parts.

I come back to see talk of a "DPC2". Is this new site already up and running? A search of the forums yields a bunch of posts that I can't open, which I presume are restricted to certain users, perhaps the beta testers. If that's the case, and schedule on when DPC2 might be up?

Or you could just point me to a FAQ or page that neatly answers all my questions, and that I should have looked for before posting! ;)

at the moment there is no exact release date for DPC2, and no FAQ, but you can expect a lot of new features... and very soon indeed :)

Thanks. Looks like a lot of big changes while I've been gone.

For anyone wanting to get "caught up" you might want to review this thread discussing the prospective New Rules and this thread which was kind of a wish list for new features.

Wondering if there is going to be a charge for DPC2 and whether this site DPC1 (if you will) will fold up. I really love this site. It is the only site I visit daily (and more than once) and which I have told everyone I know about. Thanks for the info.

OK, I know I'm waaaaay late with the ball, but what the heck.

I'd like to see a way to "flag" certain pictures while voting. These might be pictures I definitely want to come back and reconsider, or pictures that I want to make sure I catch the postgame comments on.

I also really like the idea of allowing users to add a photo to their favorites while voting as well.

Thanks. And I'm sorry for my tardiness. I missed this thread the first time around.

The plan is that all the current challenges, forums, etc. will continue as a free site. There will be additional features and challenges available to paid members, but I don't know the details. I believe everything will be accessed from within a single, re-designed site.

Thank you for the info. I have been raving about this web site to everyone I know! Sure would hate for changes to dissuade people from participating.

hardwaybets: Thanks for your kind words on the site. Like GeneralE said, you won't have to pay for anything you're getting now. We're just adding some stuff for those who can't get enough DPC :)

We'll be running an announcement about the site including a targetted release date of the new site very soon... probably tomorrow.

That's cool, drew. As i have said before, you guys are tops (i presume you prefer those words over my "testimonial" i posted the other day under flattering comments :).

One feature i would dearly love to see is that some posts could be marked somehow by either the poster or a moderator if those posts contain good technical info. And that lateron you could do a search on those marked posts if you want to revisit those. Very often, a good technical post sneaks in on other threads and gets buried in a lot of yaddayadda posts. Two months later you recall vaguely the post but not the thread and you have a heck of a time finding it.

Not sure i made myself clear here.
