I'm not a big fan of nightclubs, but last night my wife and I went to one to meet some friends who were celebrating a birthday party. I don't dance, and the music was so loud that it was almost impossible to talk to anybody, so I passed some time taking shots of the DJ and his light show. This was the best pic I got.
I used my wife's little pocket-sized Canon Powershot SD300. That thing is TINY! |

Thanks to henry_buckle for leaving a comment that it would be better if it was cropped tighter. You know, I think he's right. I've cropped it down a bit and resubmitted it. So the version you see now is cropped a little tighter.

I like the composition here ... it really allows your eye to travel and take in the scene. The luminosity is brilliant as well. This is a wonderful piece.

| Did you neatimaged this? Looks remarkably noise-free for a P&S camera. Anyway it is a cool shot of an environment that is generally not easy to shoot. |

Yes, I did use NeatImage. NeatImage is a wonderful, wonderful thing :)
Here is the original version, straight out of the camera except for resizing and saving for web...

Yeah I agree with you. NeatImage is great, and even more so for those of us with small sensor cameras. However your original is already very good as far as noise is concerned... also, I think I would have cropped it just in the bottom to remove the heads and close to the first blue light on the left... I think it would add to the mood... just my 2c. Your crop looks cool too, anyway. |
