Hmmm,
Not into bugs, even monarch butterflies.
Maybe, I'll think about it in the meantime.

I called Point Mugu State Park just now, and they said it's not cool enough for clustering (butterflies), but they are flying all over the campground area. Also, the parks guide told me to hike Viewpoint Trail, Seranno Trail and Scenic Trail if possible. She said the Overlook Road offers some amazing views of the Santa Monica mountains. All of this is located just off Sycamore Canyon. The Scenic Trail will take you up to the Bluffs, which offer great views.
It's $10 per car for the entire day. I am willing to drive, but would love someone to split the fee with and to chat with on the way :)
The park is about 25 miles north of the LA / Ventura County line on the PCH.

Too bad Point Mugu was closed (trails). I really wanted to explore the Scenic Trail and Overlook Trail. Anyhow, the hike was a lot of fun. Gary & Marylou were really nice!
Tom, your photos came out with such brilliant color. I really wish I could do that! I should have used my circular polarizer. I really need an ND filter too! I am going to buy a Kokin set I think.
I posted some photos: //www.mirdonamy.com/photoentry.php Enjoy!

Hmmm,
tough to navigate through your site.
I didn't use a polarizer except for the shots of the hill/trail.
Just updated them too.
