This is just my second time out shooting my friends skating. Tell me what you think. The indoor shots settings are around f/ 3.5-8, shutter around 1/40, ISO 800, Sigma 500 flash used off camera at around 1/2-1/4 power.

I think I like IMG_8031 the best. The flash worked better here than in the rest of the photo's indoors. I think it actually accentuated the floating feeling of his jump.

The candid of the kid picking his nose is priceless. The No Loitering sign with him sitting there is just great. I bet he hates you for that. :0)

the pict are well made, I been a skater for 13 years and purely from the skating point of view, only one or two are cool (the one with the shopping cart being one of them) as the rest seem to be taken just at the wrong moment and the do not capture the trick at it's best

just my 2 cents

4/13 with the huge flash shadow behind him would be reallllly cool with some editing and in black and white.

Proficient, clean, crisp action shots really. Not much to criticise = just good stuff!

I too like the nose pick and the kid's handstand. You've got some nice lighting too. I also like the shopping trolley shots.

One thing you could try is 2nd curtain flash with some panning long exposure shots - you don't see much of that in skating mags and it may add some dynamics.
