So anyway...it doesn't have to be a photo of a celebration or anything involved with a celebration...all we're trying to do is celebrate THROUGH photography, and get a 'good' or 'warm' feeling through to our viewers, correct?
So technically, this is a free study...as long as it makes the viewer feel good, it fits the challenge???

I really have no clue what your intent was with that post. If you've got a problem with me, then I'd like to invite you to just come right out and say it...otherwise, thanks for the input, but could you elaborate any?

It's a quote. Sundance Kid said that to Butch, and I believe it was meant very lightheartedly.
In terms of the celebration theme, I've no doubt there would be some voters who will downvote if they don't see baloons, noisemakers and something else that hammer into your head the idea that someone is celebrating.
I don't think this is a free study, but yes, I think it would be nice to look at pictures where either a celebration is happening, or where the idea of a celebration is being sent across, or where causes for celebrations are being presented.

My interpretation is that it should be a "feel good" photograph to the person taking the shot as well as those viewing it. (I quote from the description :"Devote your photographic energies to making us feel good about ourselves and our lives") I have already submitted mine, but I'm sure because it isn't a baby with a hat and cake on the face, or a confetti filled sky with jubilant people below, it will get lambasted. But when I took the shot, I wasn't realy thinking much about it until I uploaded it and it immediately made me feel really great that I have that subject to capture. I celebrated because it needed NO post editing or even cropping. Talk about feel good!!!! |
