It's Raining. Is there like a snap-on umbrella or something for my camera?

I'm sure one could rig up a device that mounts on the hot-shoe.

I was going to post a similar thread, but it's close enough to this one. I was wondering what kind of rain covers people use for their cameras? I know there are a lot out there so I was hoping to find some testimonials. And also, do they prevent condensation buildup also?

There's this but I think a number of members have created their own from trash bags and shower caps. That probably comes with a better price.

Yup, I have the Kata too.

You can easily improvise with a shower cap or a ziplock bag and some rubber bands....

Are we trying to shoot in a prolonged downpour or a quick pic in a drizzle? Very different conditions. For shooting in extremely wet enviornments for extended shooting sessions (hours/days), then underwater housings/bodies are needed. If the concern is a bit of water spray at the lake/ocean or a few drops during a quick pic from the car, then a small towel will suffice. The bags and covers are overkill for the sprinkles and not waterproof enough for rainstorms. During bad weather, a canopy or roof is the best overhead protection. Portable (opensided) tents are useful for long periods in the rain. Can double as sun shades in warm sunny weather.

Check out what National Geographic Photographers use in rain forest regions. Equipment risk must be balanced with the "payoff" of the shot.

some shots are better off forsaken for better weather
