I sometimes wonder at the scores people give/receive. Why does an obviously stunning picture sometimes receive a 1 or 2 (assuming it meets the challenge)? Is it always in the eye of the beholder?
Well, for fun I took a look at my score (currently 5.4) for the complementary color challenge and decided to compare it to the same score in the original challenge (at //www.dpchallenge.com/challenge_results.php?CHALLENGE_ID=98 ).
I had to admit that I would have ranked myself pretty much in the same spot (5.4) in the previous challenge if I had submitted my current picture there.
So, despite the occasional voting aberation, I think my peers are pretty accurate - in this instance at least.
Which leads me to question...How would you rate your score against the earlier challenge? Be honest now.... |

You are kidding right? With nearly 800 current images to look at in active challenges I'm going to go back thru a prior challenge...?
Well, OK. I'm sure I would have made Top 10 with my current entry. But then I haven't looked at the other 72 entries in the old one. Hmmm...82 entries in old challenge, vs 317 in current challenge. Let's see, if I took the brown ribbon in the old by coming in last, I would be in the top 74% of the current challenge. That's pretty good yes? ;^)
Sounds a bit like Apples to Oranges. Wait, that's Red and Orange. Don't thing that works for complementary colors - does it? I'd get crushed! That reminds me, I like Orange Crush. Haven't drank one of those in a long time! Wonder if they have that at my local store...
