I love macro work and someday I will get me a Canon 100mm/2.8, but until then I have to "fake" macro with the lenses I have. Fortunately, the 17-40L doesn't do too bad a job for quarter size objects. This pic is a 100% crop and has only a moderate (100%/2.0/10) amount of USM. It was handheld as well (although I used the window sill for support).

Creepy cool shot! Could have been a bit sharper, but still very nice.
