I just found out that my grandfather is in the hospital. He went in with abdominal pain. They found an obstruction pressing against his bowel that is causing him a lot of pain.
They won't be able to operate, so they are doing their best to keep him comfortable. He's not expected to recover. :(
Please keep him in your prayers/thoughts, that his last hours or days will be comfortable and as free of pain as possible.

Sorry to hear that....In my prayers also.
My wife's Grandmother passed away Monday so I now what you are going through. My wife was told if she wanted to see her Grandmother alive one last time she better come now....she drove Monday for 6 hours to Gainesville, Fl. Got there Monday at 4:00 pm and her Grandmother passed at 9 pm that night. She took it real hard as they were close. I will keep you and your Grandfather in my prayers.

There must be something going around. My grandmother went into the hospital on Monday and is not expected to leave. She did manage to celebrate her 89th birthday on Tuesday, which is pretty impressive for someone who has smoked for almost 70 years.
I'm sorry about your grandfather, Terry. My thoughts and prayers are with you right now.

Thank you all for your replies here as well as your PM's. They really do mean a lot to me.
sfalice: After some long talks with my family and close friends, we all agree I should still attend the MS walk this weekend. The walk does a lot of good for a lot of people, and my grandfather would be pretty upset if I skipped it.
If anyone needs to get hold of me or to relay a message to me, please send a PM to blemt, as she will know how to reach me.

Sorry about the bad news Terry I will prey they can make him comfortable and relieve him of the pain. This will be a tough time for YOU too my friend so give yourself a TIME-OUT and try to relax a bit.

Hey everyone.
First and foremost I want to thank everyone here for their thoughts and prayers.
About a half hour ago I got a call from my mother. My grandfather passed away quietly and very peacefully, in his sleep and without pain.
