I went to Rockingham (a UK oval raceway) with new cam for the final round of the SCSA championship and shot a few (OK, I shot about 500, but who's counting?). These are a few. I'm actually quite pleased with them.
Some Shots Of Cars And Stuff
I really loved the way that all spectators could wander around the pits and peer into the garages. Access to the garage roof was permitted and was free, with drivers chatting to anyone who would talk to them. Cost of entry was only £ 15.00; a damn sight cheaper than F1 ticket prices.
As a semi-interesting sidenote, I spotted a few of the 'media' photographers with their obscenely long (and expensive) lenses. Two of them that I managed to get close enough to were using 20D's with battery grips. Rather an eye-opener, when, in some forums (not here, I hasten to add), the 20D is dismissed as a 'toy' by camera snobs.

I like the first pic of the Blue Number 28 car. The blue of the car and the tool chest stand out great against the Grey and Black of the shadows and tarmac etc...
Where is rockingham - I've never been there? |

If they were taken with a 0.3MP camera then I salute you.. BTW I'll be heading for UK early next year to do the family thing, I'de love to go there with you and shoot some pictures like those I will stay in London so if its anywhere close to you PM me and lets arrange it please..

Rockingham is close to Corby in Northants. Close (relatively) to both Silverstone and Santa Pod.

Unfortunately the season has now ended. The first race of next year is in April.
I you're coming to London, then make sure to post the dates here, so that a get-together can be arranged around your visit. We'll take you to all the really good places, honest.
