Villy... I quite liked your picture, scored you high but not enough to make me say WOW!

I agree with you about wanting to see more original photos. I will admit that I do enjoy lots of "polished" looking photography even if it is kind of trite, but when I want to be amused or bang my head and say "why didn't I think of that first?" I turn to the work of Chema Madoz. I'm not sure if his style will be appreciated by everyone, but you can't deny his creativity.

That's quite an interesting gallery he's got there. I reckon he'd get a very mixed reaction on dpchallenge. He certainly is miles out of the box... he has a wonderful skill for setting up amazing still lives, but the majority of his work is focused on the objects themselves rather than expressing any technical skill in photography. Indeed, a lot of his images have pretty mundane composition and contain a minor imperfections in backgrounds etc... almost all of their interest comes from the still life being depicted. As such, on a site like this where technique is of primary interest, he might get a lot of quite low votes.
