Exactly...

Those are the Parts.

I got a dSLR because I thought I wanted more reach. I lived through some budget Quantaray, Tamron (non SP), and some lower end slow Canons. The wife using my Pro1 with the TC would always come back with sharper better detailed pic. This TC has still has more reach than my Canon 70-200mm 4L with a 1.4x teleconvertor and the pics are comparable (makes me grumpy sometimes).

Understand that with this adapter on the camera that you are locked into an about 280-320mm range...this is done in the menu and it is done to keep the shooter from getting vignetting or catching the edge of the adapter in the shot. (if you like pinhole camera shots just turn off the adapter in the menu, zoom out and have some fun :) )

I am in such a delima too. I am new to photography. I can't decide on a camera. It's out of Canon XT or 20D or Nikon D50, D70 or 70s. I will mostly shoot my kids playing basketball in a gym. I keep deciding then changing my mind. I want a good camera, but don't want to spend a fortune. Someone please give me insight!

thanks,

Set your budget first. Decide if you really need a DSLR, remember you will have lens costs down the road. If you decide you need a DSLR then go out and actually look at them. Hold them, work the controls, take some shots (if you have a card shoot to your own card and take them home). Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Minolta are all good cameras. Go with what feels good and feels intuitive to you. Do not go with what others may tell you they like unless you try it and compare to others.
