Most of the comments I received regarding my Macro shot noted that the photo was out of focus but if you look close you will see that the diamond IS in focus. The actual diamond is less that a 1/4" across but on my computer screen it measures over 3 inches. In order to get that level of magnification I had to use a +10 and +7 Macro lens. Using that setup, even with an aperture of F8.0, the DOF was very shallow. The diamond sits up about 3/16" from the mount so there was no way that I could get the diamond and the pendant in crisp focus. Maybe a poor choice for a subject but I think I should get some "extra credit" for difficulty.

I looked at it again and it is really hard to tell if ANY of it is in focus. I think you were right about the subject, it may be just really hard to show any focus on the diamond.
