Is there a way to download more than 2 files at a time using the built in "download manager", also is there any way to resume downloads using just firefox?
Do I have to get an extension or some 3rd party download manager to do this with Firefox? I tried Download Accellerator but it didn't seem to work w/Firefox..

You can download as many files as you like at the same time (bandwidth provided ;) using the built in download manager (Ctrl-Y or Tools->Downloads)

I have installed "Download Statusbar" extension just for simplicity sake, but it isn't a must.

I guess you can stop-start downloads ( think there is a button for it!) but I never tried myself.

Hope it helps

I downloaded "Lightning Download"-- its kinda the lite-version of "Get-Right" and it works w/Firefox, you just have to right click and itcopies the URL into the Clipboard and the program automaticly detects it then-- You just cant click on file and have it start--
I knew I wasnt High-- 2 downloads were the max I could get with Firefox!!--

Bobster may be thinking of this...

In your location, type "about:config".
These are a raw view of Firefox's settings.
Once it comes up, I suggest you enter "network" or "http" in the filter, but it's not necessary. You are looking for 2 items:
network.http.pipelining and network.http.pipelining.maxrequests.
Once you find them, set the pipelining to true, and maxrequests, well, I'd just double it to start. It's a vanishing returns type situation, you can add more but if it works for you, you'll see vanishing returns as you up the number.

See if that speeds things up for you. WARNING....only do it if you have broadband or better. It won't help you, in fact will probably slow your performance down, if you are on dial-up.

Oh...re: resuming, I don't remember if Firefox supports it, but regardless, the server you are downloading from has to support it, i.e. it won't always work.

Type about:config
Go to network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server
Change number to something higher.
