I was wondering about that,

Would we get voted down for using a triad or double split color scheme?

I wouldn't see what it would hurt...I think if you have a great photo people will vote it good...just my opinion..

An online color schemer is available here that makes it easy to find contrast colors (just click the "Contrast" icon). This is what is traditionally called "complementary" colors where the colors are on opposite sides of the color wheel. You can also find triad and tetrad color schemes. (See definitions, with examples, of the various color schemes here.)

The challenge description does say "2 colors", so it probably is best to restrict yourself to two colors.
