i just recieved my camara from radioactivedeals.com, they never said anything about it being a japanese version, and the power cords that come with it are for japanese power outlets. should i send it back, or do i just deal with this?
thank you

depends, how much did you pay for it? i mean if you got a really good deal, suck it up and buy a new adapter. if you paid 700-800$, then try to get your money back... might not be worth the aggrevation though.
i believe there is a firmware upgrade out there that would allow you to change the language settings on the cameras' menus etc.

Do you mean the cord to connect to the computer? Otherwise which power cord do you mean? The battery charger? If it is the cable for the camera to computer you can pick one of those up at most computer shops. |

This is why you don't buy from online stores with stupid names like radioactivedeals.
Beware of Royal camera also.
Are your menus in Japanese also?

I also received mine in overseas flavor, with the wrong kind of cord.
My work-around was to simply use a power cord from my old Sonly Mavica charger after trimming a little plastic off so one side of it had the squared-off end. You will note the charger female socket has a square on one side and rounded on the other. It may be simply as easy as finding a power cord for a radio or shaver, as they often are made like that. The charger tag says will accept either voltage.
The 350D looks much nicer without the gawdy red logo huh? |

Radio shack has tons of cords that plug into things like chargers (with the square/round end, etc). A few bucks...

Actually, that would be the special "Ken Priest Edition."
