okay...
in my mind, the coffee shop is that quaint breakfast place where grizzled men sit with their papers, cigs, and cups o' joe. (okay, being in california, not so much with the cigs...maybe donuts). coffee houses are the whole sip-an-espresso-while-reading-naruda-and-listening-to-radiohead thing. (...and just for the record, i am a die-hard coffee house gal.)
so,
will pictures of coffee houses get voted lower? are they okay with you all? would love to hear the general mood of the voting community on this one...
thanks!

Here in Oregon we just call 'em Starbucks. There's usually one or two on each street corner. :)
Whether it's a coffee house or a coffee shop I think is irrelevant. It's the picture that counts. Image is everything. Whack 'em over the head with coffee.

Any photo that wasn't taken at a Starbucks, is getting an immediate 3 from me.
...and ALL Chai Tea Latte's, will score, automatic 10's.
Maybe 9's, if they're on ice...? |

thanks for the link, bear! i actually found that same thread by chance after posting this thread. that discussion completley hit the nail on the head with the difference in "coffee shop" interpretation.
guess i'll have to pays me dime and takes me chances!
:-)
p.s. fyi, my voting criteria will honor either interpretation--as long as it's a great shot, sausage or no!
points off for starbucks, extra points for seattle's best and super bonus points for moonpennies! (kidding!)
;-)
