I am just experimenting with dark photo styles. I like dramatic effect hi-contrast and dark colors bring.
What do you think? Should I keep on with that?

I really like the first image. The second one is too dark IMO.

If it's something you like go after it! Personally I don't care for the darker images but they appear to do fairly well here on DPC. Although I think the "dark" images that have been receiving high votes are not naturally dark (in the terms of lighting), but rather post-processed for a darker, "grungy" look.
As for what you've posted, the first one is fine. The other two don't do much for me as a photo that I find interesting to look at.
JMHO ;^)

Mostly I am now expereminting with post processing to make photos dramatic with darkness.
The first one of course is "dark" by theme already :D Thanks.

Hmmm... Suggestions?
Every photographic or editing technique has a 'best' use. Not all images work in black and white. Not all images work in color. Not all images work with selective desat. Not all images work with grunge. Not all images work with blur/fantasy look. Some images can work with all types of processing. You just never know until you develop an eye for that sort of image. An no, I'm not saying only certain people have an eye for it. What I mean is that, just like with taking pictures in general, once you've gotten used to a particular technique, you will recognize, often before you take the picture, what editing process you will use.
You stated the first image was dark by theme. You saw that in the image and played up on it. And it works. Really well. I think the object is to play on what the image already has going for it, which is why it may not be as effective in the second or third. Personally, I think the second image would work well lighter and with gaussian blur layers. It seems more of a dreamy setting. Course, if you changed the blue sky to grey or black, it would work better, IMHO, as a 'dark' image.
My suggestion? Play. A lot. Have fun.

I agree all photos are not for dark. I already got the feeling of need to go out and shoot pictures suitable for dark themes. As I did not shoot any of them before I began experimenting dark themes. It is dark ourside ;)
Yes, editing is fun and I have done it a while now.

Does this dark theme work?
